Rev. Carlton L. Barnes, Interim Pastor

Pastor Carlton L. Barnes Sr. is an anointed and appointed man of God, chosen to speak to this generation the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pastor Barnes has fully embraced the anointing that God has placed on his life.

Pastor Barnes accepted Christ as his personal savior at the age of ten.  Early on it was evident that Pastor Barnes had the anointing upon him.  Even at a young age, he had a good understanding of the Word of God.  During his formative years, his mother made sure that he was exposed to great preachers of the faith.  Although Pastor Barnes knew his destiny was to preach, he did not accept the assignment right away.  After graduating high school in 1986, he enlisted in the United States Air-Force.  While serving in the United States Air-Force, the calling of God was too strong to resist any longer.  In 1995 Pastor Barnes accepted the call of God to preach.  Four-years later in 1999, Pastor Barnes was called to the Morning Star M.B. Church as their pastor.  From 1999 to the present, Pastor Barnes has served several congregations.  Presently Pastor Barnes along with his wife Demetrice Barnes are the Founders/Pastors of Citadel of Faith Church currently located in Gary, IN.

Pastor Barnes is not only an anointed pastor and preacher, but also a devoted husband and father.  He has been married to his lovely wife Demetrice Barnes for thirty-six years and they are the proud parents of three adult children.  They are also the grandparents of five grandchildren.   Pastor Barnes received his bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Indiana Wesleyan University, a master’s degree in theological studies from United Theological Seminary and he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree in Liberative Preaching and Proclamation at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.
