Who Are We
The St. John Baptist Church has served the Gary community for over 100 years.
We endeavor to meet the spiritual, emotional, physical, and communal needs of everyone that the Lord sends our way. Steeped in the tradition of Social Action and Justice, St. John advocates for the voiceless, marginalized, and disenfranchised in both word and deed as Jesus directs us to in Matthew 25. Our worship services are comprised of traditional and contemporary components to serve the entire family.
We believe God to be our Creator, Christ our Savior, and the Holy Spirit our Comforter and Guide. We believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and is practical for spiritual and personal instruction.
